We Are Here All Year!

So what do you do in the winter?

I hear this question from November until March every year. I have a well rehearsed answer for inquisitive strangers or family members who wonder out loud if I hibernate or spend the season in Florida. Yes, winters are a little slower than the fever that comes with spring. But really, winter is another busy season at Garrick-Santo Landscape Co.  We are here all year.

Winters are for planning.

• Designers using Auto-CAD and other 3-D software are planning new landscapes and update existing ones.
• Account managers are writing proposals, ordering materials and scheduling work for the coming spring.
• Management is recruiting new talent and hiring for key positions.

Winters are for marketing.

• Web administrators are adding to our website.
• Key team members are writing and scheduling our blog, social media and monthly newsletters.
• Account managers are designing campaigns and printing brochures.

Winters are for relationship building.

• Account managers are scheduling site checks and coffee meetings with clients and vendors alike.
• Our client care team is contacting existing clients to renew maintenance contracts and schedule new construction projects for the coming year.
• We spend time with our co-workers to discuss upcoming projects.

Winters are for field work.

• On warmer days we do winter cleanups and complete other field work.
• On snowy days we provide snow maintenance service for our commercial clients.

In short, we don’t take the winter off.  We are here all year!
