Plant of the Week: Daffodils
As one of the heralds of spring, Daffodils are essential to getting some color started in your garden. There are many different types and colors of Daffodils that have been cultivated. In fact, there are 13 different varieties to choose from.
These perennials are great for bordering your garden or for under small trees. These flowers can produce year after year for 30 to 50 years! Another advantage of adding these plants to your garden is the fact that they are deer and rodent resistant.
How to care for Daffodils:
Daffodils prefer full to partial sun and do well in well-drained soil that is kept moist. Be careful about how much you water, these flowers are susceptible to rot.

If you are looking to have a neater appearance of your garden, you can deadhead these after the blooms have been spent. Do not remove the leaves at the same time. These help your plant store energy for next year’s bloom.
